The Hotel Du Cirque is an easy stop in Troyes, just 400m from the center, and the accommodation and breakfast have always been excellent for us. We’ve stayed many times and already booked again for June and August. Troyes is a great place to spend a night or two, and we found a vet to sort out the tape worm treatment before heading back to England. Last year we brought our T-cup chihuahua Ellie, and this year we have a new little member, Daisy, a pomchi who’s abroad for the first time. The hotel was great with us last year. Parking was easy to arrange, at around 5 to 6 euro, and it’s secure, which we like.

A good location, but the stay was loud and dirty, with poor service and broken facilities. The door latch was faulty when we arrived, and the owner tried to blame us. It locked us in our room and made us miss our dinner reservation. They wouldn’t move us to another room unless we paid for it. Luckily we were only there one night as a stopover. We won’t be back.

Decent, simple hotel for good value, very close to the town center. There are three EV wallboxes for a flat 11€, which seems fair, and overnight parking costs 10€.

A cockroach was waiting in our room when we arrived, as shown in the picture below. The booking and customer service were both really poor, and the rate automatically went up while we were trying to book. There was also a mix-up about breakfast. The employee took it as confirmed while we were still discussing it and charged us. We didn’t eat breakfast, but they refused to reverse the transaction. Too many things went wrong here. Avoid it.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and our rooms were clean. We were traveling to Morzine with two teenagers and four mountain bikes, and the hotel worked perfectly: we could book adjoining double and twin rooms, secure parking, and a lockup garage for the bikes. Air-conditioning was welcome, too. It’s a five-minute walk to the quaint old town for dinner. We didn’t have breakfast, so I can’t comment on that.
