Zenao Appart'hôtels Troyes

We had a nice stay and would come back. The location is good, the staff were friendly and professional, and the rooms were spacious and generally clean. The kitchenette was useful, the bed was comfortable, and the onsite parking helped, though it costs extra. It was a very hot week, and this modern complex could really use air conditioning. The hotel kindly brought us a fan. They have some pet-friendly rooms, which worked for us with our cat. Check-in was at 4pm and departure at 10am; that felt a bit rushed, though nobody pressured us.

Troyes is a great base for exploring, and this accommodation is very well located with lots of potential. But in summer, the lack of air conditioning is a real problem. Our third-floor room was 32 degrees in the daytime even with the shutters fully closed. Opening both windows overnight brought it down to 29 degrees, but the river rapids were so loud that keeping them open was hard. Either the heat or the noise made sleeping difficult. If you book here in summer, bring a fan.

It's a quiet, clean place for a short stay, with secure parking, though a very large car might be a problem. The apartment could use a few more pieces of cutlery and small plates, since even for two people the supply was limited. The medieval centre of Troyes is a 10-minute walk away, and the factory shops on the outskirts of town are easy to reach.

We've stayed here a couple of times already. Troyes is an ideal stop on our trips from Frankfurt to the French coast, either west or south, which explains why we keep coming back. The Zeneao is in its original location, with spacious rooms and a kitchenette, and it's perfectly placed for getting some champagne.
