The food was exceptional. One dessert, which could have been just a scoop of ice cream, was turned by Pascale and her daughter into a work of art. Our final meal was a mix of French and, I think, some German dishes: sausage like a hot dog but on another level, thick bacon, sauerkraut and potato. I didn't come up for air until I'd finished. They made our stay delightful. The hotel is quaint and perfectly located, with amazing air conditioning and water pressure. We were there during a hiking trip booked through a travel company, as part of our itinerary. Pascale (sorry if I've got the spelling wrong) and her daughter, whose name I didn't catch, run the place. Pascale was reserved and very classy, but definitely not unkind, and her daughter was lovely too. I highly recommend it!

Our room was excellent, with a gorgeous four-poster bed, a separate bathroom and toilet, and a balcony. The staff were friendly and helpful. The outdoor pool was on the small side, but I managed to swim since nobody else was using it. The hotel is in a peaceful spot, close to some beautiful villages.

We loved the wide selection at breakfast. The historic district is an easy walk away, and don't miss the night watchman at 10 pm!

The rooms were great and the hotel is well located, but the sauna seemed to be broken, and we only found that out after asking. We tried to book dinner and were told it was full because a group was staying there. Once the group had left, the restaurant was closed. At checkout, we said we'd missed out on the sauna and couldn't use the restaurant. They simply replied that the restaurant was only for hotel guests (which we were) and that there were other restaurants in town. We did get an apology, but it was still a real shame.

Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The hotel was clean and in a great location, and it was excellent value for money compared with other places in the area.
