We came by car from Calais, stopping overnight in Reims, and stayed a week with our three boys, aged 8 to 11. Our safari tent had two bedrooms, one with a double bed and a bunk above a single, and the other with a double. There are plenty of local supermarkets for supplies, which was handy for a family of five. The setting near the gorge is gorgeous, and donkeys wandering around the tent were an unexpected bonus. It has a relaxed, mostly off-grid feel and a clear focus on connecting with nature. Compared with other Eurocamp holidays we’ve taken, this felt a little more grown-up. There are plenty of activities, but you can do as much or as little as you want, so it’s great for lazy days. Everyone on staff was welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. We think it’s especially well suited to families with children up to 12. We’ll definitely visit another Huttopia site.

We loved that the whole site was screen-free and so well looked after. The spa felt magical, and booking it was easy and free. Children’s activities were excellent, run by passionate local businesses and museums. Staff were polite, friendly, and full of useful information.

We visited in the shoulder season, when there wasn’t a huge amount going on. The restaurant menu was limited and activities only ran on weekends. Still, the atmosphere was laid-back, and the forest spa was a great addition. Staff were friendly and accommodating. There’s lots of shade and plenty of privacy in many, though not all, of the pitches. The luxury tents and cottages are spacious, and no cars are allowed on site. The pool is small and could use little slides for younger kids. A nice place for camping or glamping.

Outside public holidays, restaurant hours and availability are the main thing to plan around. The menu is limited, which can be a consideration when you have young kids.

We were there at the end of September and almost had the whole campsite to ourselves. The pools were fantastic, and I also enjoyed the petanque court and the lovely nature around the site. The staff were really nice. Highly recommend it in the off-season.
