La Cour Horlande

Fantastic!

This was our second stay, and the hotel has become our regular choice when we’re in Brittany or Normandy. We had a wonderful time again. It’s in a pretty, quaint village about 20 minutes from Mont Saint-Michel and roughly 40 minutes from Cancale. You can walk to supermarkets in 10 minutes, and useful services like vets, pharmacies, bars, and cafes are nearby. The building used to be a school until the 1970s. It’s small, quiet, and has a lovely park for walks and relaxing. The rooms are spacious and clean, the bathrooms are well equipped and clean, and the shared spaces are simple and well kept. We especially liked having a shared kitchen for preparing food instead of going out. Breakfast is excellent, with drinks, jams, chocolate, croissants, fruit, yogurt, bread, and more. Christine and Pascal are fabulous, very kind, helpful, and friendly. There’s a small gym with weights and other sports equipment, plus a Jacuzzi, sauna, and barbecue area in the park.

The only small thing we missed was a table and chair in the purple room. Otherwise, the place was spotless, and our hosts were incredibly attentive. We were warmly welcomed to a peaceful location that made a good base for exploring the region. Breakfast was generous and appetizing, and dinner on our first night was delicious and thoughtfully served.

The village is peaceful, and the hotel is tucked away in very quiet, green surroundings. The rooms are roomy and cozy, and the staff were friendly and welcoming, with good English. WiFi was good too, which helped since the mobile signal is slow. We stayed one night. Finding the entrance takes a bit of care: you need the gate at the end of Rue Moussay, not the listed address.
