It's very handy for the train station, and the price can work for a cheap stay. Still, rooms get warm at night without a/c, and mine wasn't very clean. I found dead bugs and clumps of hair, as if it hadn't been properly swept or the bed had just been remade after the last guest. Really unpleasant. There are better hotels just as close for about the same price, so I'd probably only stay here again if I had to.

A two-star hotel giving two-star service, with a five-star smile. I'd rate it three stars. It serves its purpose.

The bathroom was tiny, with the sink, toilet and shower squeezed into less than 1x1m, and the room smelled awful of smoke. The bed and room were extremely small, more like they were meant for 1.5 people. Don't go here, there are better places in the area for the same price.

The location is good and it's relatively cheap, but some areas were quite dirty. Wifi only worked downstairs, not on the first floor, and the thin walls meant we could hear other guests easily. We didn't try breakfast, so can't comment on it. There are plenty of nearby places where you can eat cheaply. We went to a cafe for coffee and a crossaint, just a few euros.

Hotel de Lyon is in a lovely spot in Valence, but my room was tiny and poorly ventilated. The window looked out onto a very noisy street, so I barely slept. I wouldn't recommend staying here.
