Capsule Premium Valenciennes

The concept is appealing, and the decor has been thought through, but the apartment needs a lot of upkeep. We arrived to a freezing place and had to run the heating at full blast for over an hour before it warmed enough to use the amenities. The advertised suspended bed wasn't suspended at all, though its brackets were still in the ceiling. The shutter doesn't work, and the curtain doesn't block the light. There are dirty patches on the walls, holes in the tiles, a limescale-covered shower mixer and cutlery that badly needs replacing. The garden terrace looks abandoned and can't be accessed, which is especially inconvenient for smokers who need to go outside. The sauna and jacuzzi are great, the bedding is comfortable, and street parking right outside is easy. It's a shame the owners don't seem to have acted on problems mentioned in earlier reviews.

There's real potential in the cinema capsule, but the cleaning needs serious work. Dust is everywhere, the sponges hadn't been changed, and they were no use for cleaning. It felt like the cleaning supplies amounted to toilet paper, but you make do with what you have. This needs to be dealt with. Thanks to the person on the phone who took the time to listen to us.

The bedding deserves a special mention, I slept like a log. Temps Suspendus was fantastic overall, and I'd definitely return. The service was excellent, and I liked the outdoor terrace with garden furniture, a nice extra that wasn't in the description. The front door handle was a little faulty and tricky, and there wasn't much crockery. A few balloon glasses would suit the atmosphere. Bring your own food and drinks.

We had a great time in the cinema room, which fits the theme nicely. The rooms are in two-story houses, useful to know ahead of time, and there's an air mattress upstairs. The instructions are clear, so follow them carefully and everything should be fine. Interesting concept.
