The river is right there, and pitch 82 is especially close to it. The ground is flat and sandy. Facilities for washing up, toilets and showers are basic, but they work for camping and motorhome stays. We didn’t try the restaurant, though it looked very good, and the staff were friendly. You can also order bread and pastries to collect in the morning. Reception can arrange a canoe trip with Alain Bateaux, with pickup from the site and a finish at the beach by the camp, so there’s no need to catch a bus back to your car or pitch. The rates are discounted, too.

We only stayed one night, but I could easily have stayed longer. The camp was tidy, beautifully set beside the river, and the owners were lovely and caring.

We were in a mobile home with no shade, and it got so hot inside at night that sleeping was impossible. The riverside setting is nice, but the place is very basic. It is convenient if you’re going kayaking, which they can arrange for you, and the people there are very nice.

At 50€ a night, this was two nights I won’t repeat. The noise went on until 3am with a live concert, and the owners seemed to think that was a good time, with no consideration for guests. They were also very odd and not in a pleasant way, with no basic politeness like saying good morning or thank you. The pitches were rocky and uneven, so putting up a tent meant having to sleep on a huge rock. Bathrooms were old and barely clean, with no toilet paper or soap, which I find unacceptable during covid. Definitely not worth the price if you want sleep or a clean bathroom.

The setting is superb, and the service is great. Definitely try the 24km canoë trip if you stay here. The toilets don’t flush properly, and noisy neighbours can make things less pleasant, but it’s still a great place to stay.
