The service was wonderful, and we had a great time kayaking down the river in the morning. My girlfriend and I took a double kayak and stayed upright through all three small rapids. The night before, after a train and two bus rides from Lyon, we arrived tired and hot. The river right in front of the lodge was just the right temperature to cool off. We had a fantastic dinner on our terrace with a bottle of wine from the owners’ vineyard. I highly recommend this place.

If you’re after a quiet couple of days, I’d strongly recommend this place. They arrange the canoe trip locally, so there’s no need to deal with an outside tour agency, which saves time and hassle. Definitely a place to visit.

The lodge and its location were brilliant. Reception switched our room type as we’d asked, and the staff were extremely helpful. Tea and coffee making facilities in the lodge would have been a big plus, but everything else was very good. Thank you.

With the river sounds and cicadas in the distance, this is a lovely place to unwind surrounded by nature. The cabin has the essentials, and the setting feels unique.

We all had a wonderful stay, and the five of us thoroughly recommend the prehistoric lodges. The location is peaceful and quiet. Our lodges were clean, private, and well equipped. The food at the restaurant was excellent, and the staff were friendly and helpful. They arranged our kayak trip, including good equipment, advice, and drop-off and pick-up.
