Chalet Les Garands

We've stayed in cottage 2 for the past two years, with both family and friends. It's a comfortable, clean, well-equipped chalet, and the owners are so welcoming and friendly. We definitely recommend it and will be back next year.

We had a sunny, wonderful week at chalet number 2 and made the most of the terrace. It's a comfortable, very nice, well-equipped place, and the owners were friendly and responsive to feedback.

The biggest drawback is getting to the lifts. From the chalet it's a 500-meter uphill walk to the first one, either the Le Roi chairlift or the lift across the valley towards the Valloire ski area, with about a 10-minute connection. We timed it at 26 minutes from the chalet to the top of the Le Roi chairlift, which isn't detachable 😒. That could be hard with small children. Another option is the shuttle, 200 meters downhill to Valmeinier 1800, but allow 15 to 20 minutes for the ride. The weekly price is still relatively high. For context for anyone renting in ski season: Gite 0 is well equipped with modern comforts, including a spa and two fairly spacious bathrooms. There's one parking space in front and a car park nearby. The Wi-Fi through IciWifi is unreliable, requiring constant reconnection with an online subscription. You have to provide an email address, and it's unclear how it's used. Photos show the view from the chalet's terrace.

The chalet was very clean, with comfortable beds, a lovely view, and a quiet neighborhood. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. Getting to the slopes with young children is the one difficult part, especially with ski boots and equipment on.
