Being right on the ski slope, with ski-in/ski-out access, is a real plus. The apartments also come with plenty of useful things, like shelves, lamps, hooks, cleaning supplies, and kitchen items. But the lack of space overwhelms those positives. There’s only about 40 cm to walk around the 140 cm double bed, and the toilet room is just 70 cm wide. That might be acceptable in a camper or small boat, but not in a hotel room. The elevator also doesn’t connect to the ski room, which is ridiculous, and the soundproofing is so poor you can hear what’s happening in neighboring rooms.

The pillows were very dirty, and there weren’t proper blankets. We were also charged for a guard we never saw, and the staircase was dirty. The slatted bed base wasn’t repaired, so every guest has to pay €20,00 for each broken slat. I definitely won’t stay here again.

The ski slope, supermarket, and ski rental are all about three minutes away, but the apartment itself is basic and small. We booked for five, and that felt like too many; I’d choose it for four people at most. The living-room beds make it hard to use that space for anything other than sleeping, and both the kitchen and table are small, with only basic cooking equipment. The ski locker downstairs is too small for ski boots, so we had to leave ours outside for free because the inside was full. Next year I’ll book a larger apartment.

The Odalys Les lumières de neige residence shares its reception with the Ecrins de neige residence, a few hundred meters farther down the hill. The receptionists are friendly. I especially want to mention the younger receptionist who checked out our apartment at Ecrins de Neige.
