Neither elevator worked during our stay, which was a serious problem for my father, who is older, disabled, and has a bad leg. Even though our rooms were on the first floor, he had to keep using the stairs and was left with unnecessary pain and discomfort. This accessibility issue should never have been overlooked for paying guests. There were problems with the staff as well. The receptionist who checked us in was blunt, rude, and unprofessional, barely communicated, and acted as though helping us was a hassle. We’d paid for two rooms with double beds, but after taking my booking details he handed us three room cards and said one room was twin, while he “thought” the other two had double beds. He also gave us the wrong door numbers. When we asked what time the kitchen stopped serving, since we expected to return late and wanted food, he said it served until about 2-3am. But when we got back around 12am that night, he said food was no longer available. The next night, at about 2:30am, a different female receptionist happily took our pizza order without any issue. It left us feeling we’d either been misinformed or brushed off the night before. Another female receptionist was repeatedly rude and dismissive too. When we asked for help arranging a taxi, she gave us attitude and kept rolling her eyes, making us feel unwelcome. Between the rude behavior, poor communication, incorrect room information, and broken elevators, this was a very poor experience for what was meant to be a family trip. The customer service did not meet reasonable hospitality standards. I contacted the hotel privately before posting this, and after more than two weeks I still haven’t heard back.

Our tour group felt we were treated unfairly at Holiday Inn Express Paris in Vélizy, Paris. On the first morning, staff said we could only have breakfast from 6:30am to 7:30am, just one hour, even though the breakfast hours are clearly longer. We later saw another Western tour group told they could eat from 6:30am to 9:30am without restrictions. Our tour guide even argued with the hotel about this arrangement. There was plenty of food on the first day while the other Western group was there, including fruit, donuts, pancakes, eggs, and scrambled eggs, as shown in the photos. But the next morning, many of those items were missing when our group went down: no scrambled eggs, pancakes, donuts, or even fruit. Later we saw the same foods served to other guests. The selection for us was very limited and disappointing. All guests should have equal access to the same breakfast service. Limiting one group to an hour and restricting food while others get the full choice felt unacceptable and unprofessional.

Breakfast was the problem during my six-day business trip in Paris. The breakfast setup was chaotic, and the egg station and bread felt completely out of place in modern times. My colleagues saw it too, and we switched to another hotel the next day. I liked the location and room, but I’m leaving this comment in the hope someone responsible sees it and figures out how to improve things. Stellantis France recommended this place on its list, and I’ll let them know they should remove it to spare their guests this hassle at the start of a business day. Regards,
Daniel F.
A great budget hotel, with a good room, comfy beds, decent air conditioning, and a clean bathroom. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Food was served until 3am, and while breakfast was minimal, it was still very good. The hotel is next to the massive Westfield shopping centre, so it’s close to everything, about 30min from Paris and 30mjn from the Airport.

The rooms were very clean, and I love the mix of modern touches and a vintage feel. It may seem outside Paris, but the tram is only a 5 min walk and goes toward both Versailles and Chatillons. An Uber from Champs Elysees cost about 28 euros during high season and rush hour, which seemed fair to me. It’s also near Orly Airport, and Westfield Velizy 2 is a 10 min walk for a lazy morning. There are plenty of coffees, bars, bakeries, and restaurants across the street, with different cuisines, and many are open Sundays, which is great compared with many European towns. Book lovers can also enjoy the free book swaps or street libraries around every corner. There’s a gym too, though I haven’t tried it yet. The staff are friendly and speak French and English fluently, maybe other languages too. At breakfast, I saw families and individuals from all nationalities and cultures, speaking a whole range of languages. The team managed the hungry breakfast crowd while still smiling. For the holiday season we got complimentary hand cream and delicious honey as little gifts. And you can always order pizza or other things at night. Go for it, it’s worth the money for the location, rooms, service, friendliness, and professionalism. More photos soon. Yalls
