Mercure Paris Velizy

The room was cold and dirty, with damp and mold marks, and the hairdryer didn’t work. The pool was very cold and moldy too. The hotel seemed understaffed, with poor service and no service. Charging 125 euros a night for such mediocre service while calling it a 4 stars hotel is shameful. This is pure theft.

The rooms were in poor shape, rusty and dusty, and water leaked onto our bathroom floor. The shower heads are a joke, and the bar seemed to be closed all the time. The whole place feels like it’s falling apart. The hotel is dated and has a very low mood. Staff are around, but they don’t make you feel welcome, smile, or greet you when you come or go. It feels forgotten by the world, which we didn’t expect from a Mercure hotel. This was a very unpleasant stay. Trust the low-star reviews, they speak the truth. I’m not coming back.

I was there on a business trip. The hotel was comfortable and clean, with spacious rooms, and I appreciated the bar and restaurant. The sports room was basic, and the swimming pool wasn’t essential for me. Breakfast was very good, though there were no scrambled eggs on two of the mornings I was there. The rooms weren’t soundproof, and the bathrooms were very old and need redoing.

On the plus side, there’s an indoor pool, a buffet-style restaurant, and a bar on site. The hotel feels cramped out front because of all the buildings going up around it. It’s a city-style place that’s had a lot of visitors, and my room showed it. The carpets were dirty, the curtains needed washing, the windows wouldn’t open, and the bathroom sink wouldn’t hold water because the plug was broken. It’s had a bee day, which is totally out of date these days. The electric sockets were dodgy as fook even with an EU adapter. There was no main central light in the room and no internet access.
