Hotel saint Paul

The receptionist didn’t speak English, and the room, though clean and good, had a TV without Netflix. Breakfast was a highlight for me: the croissants were especially good, there was a decent range of choices, and I remember the coffee being good too. We ate late, around 11, and there were still plenty of options, which I was glad to see.

For an affordable rate, I got what I expected: a clean room, bed, and bathroom, plus friendly staff. The hotel is modest and decent, in a well-kept house from the 1920s, right in the city center, with parking spaces out front. I’d recommend it and would book again. It says something about our broken civilization that people book budget places and then use online reviews to act like oligarchs instead of judging the service in its price range. Trying to unfairly ruin a business’s reputation means trying to take away the livelihood of hard-working people.

The room was spacious and clean, and the bed was comfortable, though the linen didn’t seem fresh and had a bit of a smell. Staff were very polite and friendly. It’s central, and at a good price, it was fine overall.

The walls between rooms are thin, which was the main downside. Otherwise, it’s well located, the staff are very friendly, and there’s a place to store bicycles. For a cheap hotel, it met my expectations once I looked past the imperfections.
