Novotel Chateau De Versailles

Even with a broken leg, I had three absolutely comfortable days here. The hotel is fantastic, and the room was clean, cozy, and fully accessible for people with limited mobility. The staff were courteous and always ready to help.

I've stayed at this hotel many times and always enjoy it. The location is perfect, and both the rooms and staff are lovely. This time Natalie helped move me to a quiet room, which worked perfectly. All the staff here are fabulous.

The rooms were very clean, and the staff really did their best despite being short staffed. The breakfast was very disappointing, though, and I'd suggest getting it somewhere else. The stay was okay, but I'd try to avoid the hotel next time. The hotel we wanted was fully booked.

The reception team and staff in general were very friendly, but the bar service was rude at best. The bar staff used please, s'il vous plaît, voici, and thank you, merci very sparingly, and everything seemed like too much effort. On the first day, another customer and I waited over 20 minutes for help in a quasi empty bar while the staff chatted somewhere behind the closed restaurant. We went over and explicitly said hello to make our presence known, and only then did they come take our orders. Another evening, the six of us were eating and drinking well, including bottles of wine, when we were simply told they'd close "in 30 seconds" while we were still consuming. The posted closing time was still 20 minutes away, but they said they "had to vacuum still". They could at least have given us warning, or started cleaning in the background. I've traveled often and stayed in dozens of hotels a year, and have never been treated so rudely. I definitely recommend against using the bar. I hate leaving bad reviews because I know hotels and restaurants are tough businesses with many moving partners, and I rarely do, but in this case I feel forced to. The human factor is key in a restaurant, and if that's missing, why bother?
