The lack of basic toiletries was disappointing, and we couldn’t lock our door. We’d booked two units but were placed on opposite sides of the property, far apart. The shower setup was also a dealbreaker for us: the booking photos showed a glass door, but we found a curtain instead. If we’d known, we wouldn’t have booked here.

It was quiet during our October stay, with temperatures around 16 degrees, though the bad weather spoiled things a bit. Bring something for a windy walk and possible rain. The site is open until around 19 November, but check before arriving. The plots for larger caravans are a decent size, with hedges tall enough to give some privacy. The amenities were clean and good, and the showers had hot water, which you don’t always get. Veules-les-Roses is a quaint, historic town, about a 10-minute walk from the seafront.

There’s plenty to do here, and it’s a nice place about 1 km from the sea.

The apartment was spacious and convenient, especially during low season, and it’s about a 10-minute walk to the centre. The people were extremely kind and welcoming. Check-in at 17:00 felt a bit late and inconvenient, and there were no towels or soap in the rooms. Still, it’s more of a holiday home than a hotel, so that was fine. I even did an interview in the common room and got a job, so I’ve only got positive feelings and would definitely come back 😂😂
