The pool is the clear highlight, which is why we booked. There’s a large outdoor pool with slides, waterfalls, and different depths, plus an indoor splash area for little kids and a heated indoor pool for windy, chilly days. Adults also have a separate pool with a retractable roof, jacuzzi jets, a steam room, sauna, and plunge pools. The site has courts, pétanque, table tennis, a BBQ area, and a big outdoor games space, though it could use more shade. The playground is small and feels like an afterthought, but it looks fairly new and clean. The site has the usual shop, bar, and restaurant, and the pizza was very good. It’s in a peaceful area with attractions like a theme park and go-karting nearby. Still, the place feels old and a bit grubby overall. Some areas have clearly had money spent on them, but the pool decor and slides are let down by exposed breeze blocks and unfinished details. Our pitch was the main problem and ruined the stay. It sat behind the toilet block and bins, with an unpleasant smell, and near the gas store, where we were told we couldn’t cook on the pitch. The space itself was awkward, with a boulder, manhole, and tree in the middle, leaving little room to use. The ground had broken pottery, rubbish, and food from previous occupants; behind the hedge looked like a dump for broken sunbeds. We were also beside the staff service area, where people came and went from around 6am until late at night. One staff member had a particularly loud motorbike. On top of that, we were closest to the main entertainment stage, so there was no quiet before midnight. If we’d had another pitch, I might have given the site four stars. With this one, I can’t give it more than two.

The €22 small pitch is good value if you’re only coming for the spa, and reception was friendly. But the bar and restaurant are meant to close at 22, while the loud entertainment carries on well past midnight. People shout across the site at night, kids and adults use the sports area after 2am, and nobody enforces quiet hours. Come here if you don’t mind losing sleep. I’d suggest staying somewhere else overnight after a day visit.

First impressions weren’t great. Before unpacking, you have to check off the items in your accommodation and write an inventory, since they charge a €400 euro deposit and every item has a listed price. You also have to clean before leaving or pay €59 euros. Maybe they could clean it before we arrive, I say. The pool looked good for kids, though it seemed to be flumes only, with no swimming. The campsite itself looked okay. You have to wear Speedo swimwear at the pool or the fashion police stop you before you get in. Reception staff seemed pleasant, perhaps it’s just different from Spain and the UK. It was only our first day, so things might improve, but first impressions count.

A horrific place. We’re here now and leaving early. We were delayed by awful traffic, and reception had closed by the time we arrived. Then we spent over an hour trying to get in because the car barrier wouldn’t work, as our car wasn’t registered. There’s no parking at the home, ants everywhere, and teenagers screaming and shouting outside our place. Worse than a tenement.

We got a brand-new mobile home, the Sahara Plus, and the place has good infrastructure with everything you need.
