We were greeted with pink champagne on ice in our room, which also had a mirrored ceiling. After our long journey, being shown there by candlelight was a lovely surprise. The staff made us feel very welcome, especially the night man, who seemed reluctant to see us leave. The dinner in the master's chambers was decent, though cutting the meat was difficult even with the nice steel knives. Noise was the main downside: voices in the corridor woke me in the middle of the night, and there was some loud dancing in the courtyard late at night. The soundproofing could be better.

The breakfast was excellent, and the larger room had a nice older style and felt like good value. A friendly English-speaking woman recommended a pizza restaurant up the road. It's within walking distance of Vichy Central Gare. I'd stay again if we return to Vichy.

I wouldn't stay here again. The hotel was extremely noisy: whenever another guest walked around or opened a door, it felt like they were in my room. Even earplugs didn't stop it waking me. The bathroom wasn't clean and had some mold, and the hotel itself is very old. There was also a faint old smoke or tobacco smell in the room, which I personally find disgusting. The owner, though, was extremely nice, and we enjoyed talking with him.

We had a pleasant stay in a clean, tidy hotel with lots of thoughtful little details. The location couldn't be better, and the family room was perfect.

A small hotel with comfortable rooms and very friendly owners. Its location makes it a great base for exploring Vichy and the surrounding area, whether you're travelling with kids or without. Highly recommended.
