Hôtel Restaurant Le Prieuré

Pascale was flexible about our medical needs, and she’s a fine cook. We really enjoyed dinner. The location is convenient, with an attractive village and countryside nearby, and both our bedroom and beds were very comfortable.

Breakfast was very disappointing, sparse to say the least. There was a musty smell throughout, the bedrooms looked tired and shabby, and the floor had plenty of someone else’s hair. The ensuite was full of the noisiest mosquitoes, and its unfinished wall, chipped tiles, and mold around the shower fittings added to the neglected feel. My friend had booked two B&B rooms for our trip through the beautiful French countryside. The Booking.com pictures showed a stunning pool, but that was where the appeal ended. They seemed to be from a previous owner’s time, when things were in better shape. The pool was full of dirty water and had to be covered, and the grounds were overgrown and untended. Think carefully before visiting. I’d say avoid it.

That pool was perfect, I’d love to have one myself. The location also makes this a great overnight stop on the way to Dordogne, and the luxury dinner was really nice.

The garden and pool feel like a peaceful haven. The rooms were nice and had AC, and the food was excellent.
