Sylviane made it possible for us to arrive very late on Thursday night, since our flights got into LYS at 10:30 pm. We were three friends staying over a long weekend and had a great time at Les Alpinistes in La Grave. The apartment was spacious, clean, and well organized, just right for skiers. I may come back with my family this summer for trekking.

The owners, Sylviane and Fred, were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was great. Our room had two comfortable double beds, a shower, and plenty of room for all our skiing and hiking clothes and bags. There’s also a separate room with boot dryers for skis and boots. La Roche Meane is well placed for downhill and Nordic skiing, as well as hiking. Vilar d’Arene is quieter and more peaceful than La Grave, but still only about 10 minutes from the La Grave Telefeerique. Great place to stay, and I’d definitely try to book here again if I get back to La grave.

The breakfast was really nice, with homemade jams, and the rooms were great. The cottage is quiet and well located, and Sylviane and Fred are super friendly and welcoming. One tip: book directly through the cottage, since third-party sites sometimes charge 25% more.

The owners were very attentive and gave us a really warm welcome. We slept well in the comfortable rooms, and breakfast was varied and complete, with quality items like fresh baguette and homemade jam. They were so kind that we wished we could stay for a few more days.
