The apartment was new and modern, tastefully furnished, with comfortable beds and a lovely view from the duplex. Its village-center location was handy, and the bar was pleasant. The cleaning lady and bar staff were all friendly and service-minded. Arrival was a mess, though. We'd reserved a crib by phone, but there wasn't one because, we were told, another family with a baby had arrived first. Luckily we'd booked a backup. Housekeeping was short-staffed, with one poor cleaner assigned seven apartments in a day, and the cleaning was sloppy. I reported it and some things were fixed, but I cleaned up too, including a disgusting coffee machine. The apartment had been aired out all day with the windows open, and it was impossible to warm it properly that evening. We were very cold, and two of us got sick, including the baby. I raised the heating problem with the manager before we left. Her suddenly changed tone was striking, and she offered no apology or compassion. She said, "Yes, but at some point you have to choose; it's either we air it out, or it smells like cigarettes!" Shouldn't a few rules be enforced for guests who've apparently taken over an apartment meant for 8 or 9? And shouldn't the new arrivals, who are entirely innocent, be told what's going on and given extra blankets? The advertised free parking never had spaces, so finding somewhere to park wasn't always easy.

The rooms are very quiet, and the breakfasts are generous and good quality. The hotel was completely renovated a few years ago, so its apartments feel modern and have comfortable amenities. You can walk from there into the center of Villard-de-Lans for the shops and restaurants.

We stayed in a quiet, well-equipped apartment right in the center of the village, and the staff were really friendly. Having an aperitif by the fireplace was such a treat. We had a very pleasant stay and will definitely come back.

The apartment has a fully equipped kitchenette, and the rooms are attractive and modern, furnished entirely with Ikea furniture. Staff were so friendly it almost felt obsequious. It's close enough to the center that we didn't need a car, though parking can be a bit of a hassle. Seems ideal for families.
