The room was pleasant, and every staff member gave top-notch customer service. The hotel is in a less touristy part of town, with easy access to buses, grocery stores, and coffee. Despite my complaint about the start of the stay, I enjoyed it and would still consider coming back. My main issue is the posted fee schedule for checking in before 4pm. Four is free, but each earlier hour costs extra according to how early you arrive. I’ve never encountered that before, and after a 15-hour journey it felt like an ugly welcome to such a wonderful place. I understand management’s view that guaranteed early check-in is a paid service. Everywhere else, though, I’ve experienced an informal arrangement: they let you know when the room is ready, and if it happens to be early, great; otherwise it’s ready by the stated time. Here, it seems the room could be ready but you’d be left tired, dirty, hungry, and with your luggage until 4pm unless you pay more. That feels transactional rather than hospitable. I wonder whether it solves problems or creates them.

The breakfast was delicious, and the top-floor rooms have a wonderful view. It’s a charming hotel with very friendly staff, run by a family with a long history here. A unique experience.

A nice place to stay in this popular area. This independent, family-owned hotel sits on the hillside overlooking the seashore. My room was clean and had a little balcony where I could take a break. The staff were friendly and helpful when I had a question.

I loved the garden breakfast and the welcoming bar and lounge in the evenings, often with live music. The staff were friendly and helpful, and my room was clean and just right for a short break. It’s a charming, distinctive independent hotel, family-run and very centrally located. I’d definitely recommend it.
