I slept really well here, thanks to how quiet it was. The staff were lovely and welcoming, and spoke English. The woman serving dinner was especially enthusiastic. It’s right off the autoroute, with free parking that works fine for cars, though it’s a bit tight for a long-wheelbase van. The building and location look a little worn, but the kind, friendly service makes this a good-value stop.

After a tyre blew out on the motorway, we arrived late and they kindly kept the kitchen open a little longer. We really needed that kindness. The food was lovely, the service was great, and our newly refurbished room was perfect.

The rooms were simple, but spotless and had everything I needed to feel comfortable. I also slept well, since the hotel is in a peaceful area despite being handy for the main routes. It’s a convenient stop on the way back from the Alps. The welcome from the staff was warm, and they looked after us throughout the stay. Breakfast and dinner both had a good range of dishes, and the food was good quality, with care clearly put into preparing it. I had a good experience at Hotel Initial by Balladins Lyon/Villefranche-sur-Saône and would happily stay again.

We’ve stopped here many times on the way from Calais to the south, and it’s good value. Parking is easy, it’s simple to get off and back onto the motorway, and we always enjoy the buffet and wine, a good night’s sleep, and breakfast. The staff are always pleasant, and we look forward to coming back.

The beds are the reason we haven’t returned. If you get softer ones, give us a call and we’ll be back. It might be nice to let guests choose how firm they are, if that’s possible. Just a suggestion :)
