Zenao Appart'hôtels Villeneuve-lès-Avignon

When I’m writing this, there’s a construction site right outside our window. Work started at 7 AM, just when we’d finally managed about 30 minutes of sleep. The staff tried to deal with the problems and were friendly and helpful. They’re just employees and aren’t responsible for the situation. Still, this facility shouldn’t be open in summer. There’s no air conditioning, and citing RT2012 as justification doesn’t change the fact that the room is over 30 degrees all day and night. The insulation is poor, so heat comes in even with the windows shut, and the building’s design makes it very hard to air the room overnight. I’m concerned that seniors are being housed and “taken care of” here.

We arrived at 8:20 PM after booking through Expedia, thinking we’d booked an apartment hotel. It turned out to be a senior living residence. A woman greeted us unpleasantly, charged €20 for arriving late even though Expedia hadn’t mentioned it, and then asked for a €200 security deposit that also hadn’t been disclosed. She didn’t charge it, but still. The apartment had mold in the shower, floor stains, and no toilet paper. We had to ask her for some, then wait a long time without even getting an apology. There was no coffee maker and only one bedside lamp. Shameful.

It didn’t live up to what was advertised, and for the price, the stay wasn’t worth it. I paid €199 for two nights through a smart box, yet the value was hard to justify. The bed was uncomfortable, the place was noisy and smelled unpleasant, and the whole atmosphere felt cold and impersonal, like a space that had been repurposed. I stayed at the Zenao aparthotel in Villeneuve-lès-Avignon, but it’s really a set of apartments in a senior living residence that are simply rented out when unoccupied. There weren’t any services you’d expect from an aparthotel. I wouldn’t recommend it.

A nice bakery is only a three-minute walk away, and outdoor parking was easy. The place is well located, well maintained, and the staff were attentive. I was passing through on the last weekend of April and found it a lovely establishment. I also got to chat with some of the older residents, who were really cool and welcoming. Thank you!
