VivaCamp La Laune

The setting is peaceful and really beautiful, and the owners and staff are some of the nicest people you could hope to meet. We had a first class takeaway supper, too. It’s about ten minutes by bus to Avignon city or Carrefour, with buses every twenty minutes. There’s lots for children, including free entry to the municipal pool and the skate and bike park right next door.

The toilet blocks were clean and suitable, and the staff were helpful. There are some good facilities too: a leisure room with a TV, a small bar and snack area, and reception sells basic food and bread by order. The municipal Piscine is next door, and entry is included in the price. Still, €24 felt expensive for a municipal site, especially for me as a solo cyclist with a small tent, given I had to pay full price for a very large, uneven pitch. It didn’t look maintained or cleaned at all. I’d like to see better pricing and better provision for voyagers.

The location is lovely, right in front of the castle, and the allotments are spacious. Staff were friendly, the facilities were clean, and the showers were great. You can order fresh bread and pastries for the morning. I’d definitely return.

We only planned to stop for one night, but ended up staying a few because the place is so beautiful. They welcomed us with open arms, and the snack bar food is great. We’ll definitely come back! :)
