Hostellerie Du Loup

The owners really made this stay for me. They’re so kind and clearly love what they do, and take great care of their guests. Breakfast was a delight and I slept well. The rooms are basic but clean, and I think the bathrooms have been renovated because they’re spotless. The garden is full of plants, children’s games, rabbits, and all sorts of odds and ends. I was worried after reading the reviews, but ended up finding it lovely. It feels more like a family-run guesthouse than a hotel. Just know that parking is awkward, right beside a busy road, and finding a space when you get back late is really difficult. For the room price, though, I wouldn’t hesitate.

The sheets were clean, though wrinkled. That was about the only upside. The previous guests’ rubbish was still in the room, and the doorbell rang there every 15-20 minutes all through our very short night. Only book if every hotel within 200km is full.

I had a lovely time talking with the owner and his wife. They’re very kind and care a lot about the environment, and the animals are friendly too. The room was comfortable, the people were lovely, and the location was peaceful with no noise. I highly recommend staying here.

I still have very good memories of this lovely, clean, quiet place and its super friendly owners. It’s been 8 years already. Maybe we’ll return one day, if the owners are still the same people from the islands of Thailand.
