The town is charming, and the hotel has a lovely feel to it. The staff were kind and kept asking about our plans and whether we wanted recommendations or help. They’ve made a wonderful atmosphere here. If I’m in Normandy again, this is where I’d stay. June sunsets lasted until nearly 11pm, lingering over the water. From the garden and restaurant, the view felt almost magical. Waking up there each day was a dream, and the hotel itself is gorgeous and picturesque, close to the coast. My only small gripes were no complimentary coffee and a fairly limited menu, but that’s just my preference.

The food was disappointing. The Normandy sauce was thin and bland, worse than canned mushroom soup, and the turbot was undercooked. When we said we didn’t like the meal, the staff even blamed us, so the service was worse than we’d first thought. We waited more than 40 minutes after sitting down before anyone attended to us, then over 45 more minutes for the food after ordering. The maître d’ seemed completely out of his depth, scrambling between bookings and unable to get people served within a reasonable time. If you want good restaurant service and food, I’d definitely avoid this place. We won’t return and recommend staying away.

The room had a fantastic view, and the staff were so helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the menu at the restaurant too. It’s a lovely hotel, and we’ll go back.

We stopped at this wonderful chateau hotel for a quick coffee on the way to Deauville. The sea view is gorgeous, and being there makes you feel like you’ve stepped back into the early 1800s. Worth a stop.
