Clos Ceres

Elodie made us feel very welcome, and we had a lovely few days. The house and garden are beautiful, and breakfast was very good, with homemade products. A perfect place to stay.

We spent most of our time outside, enjoying the view across the garden, though our room and bathroom were nice too. Eric and Catherine are lovely hosts, and they’re carefully restoring the house. Eric’s enthusiasm for wine came through as he shared what he knows over a good glass, alongside his homemade pate. We brought our bikes and explored the beautiful area. We’d be happy to come back.

It was so easy to unwind here, as if time had paused and the worries of COVID-19 and everything else could fade away. Catherine and Eric were wonderful at welcoming us and helping us discover local winemakers and wines from the region. Getting here from Paris was easy, too. Thanks for an awesome, unforgettable stay.

Breakfast came with hot drinks, pastries, local meats and cheeses, plus homemade fruit juices and yoghurts. One evening we chose the meat and cheese board, which was yummy, and they matched it with a wine we really liked. Elodie was warm and welcoming, and the spacious rooms sit in lovely grounds. It’s a short walk to the village, with vineyards all around. We hired electric bikes for the day and rode through nearby towns and villages. This was our second time in Vire, but our first stay at Clos Ceres. We highly recommend it and will book again on our next visit.
