Hôtel des Lacs

The view of the water was beautiful, and the service was friendly. The drink selection was limited ;-) I'm used to a different kind of service, but that doesn't mean this was bad :-) Nice place, and good overall.

From the patio, I could watch birds on the lake, waterskiers, joggers, and dog walkers. The setting was beautiful, and the restaurant had delicious food at a reasonable price. Everyone was welcoming and helpful, the premises were spotlessly clean, and breakfast had a very good variety. My stay was restful and exceeded what I expected.

The hotel is in a lovely spot, close to everything, with a lake and water complex behind it. The rooms were a reasonable size, and the hotel was clean and comfortable with ample parking. Booking through the Logis website was easy. We booked a week ahead and reserved a table for dinner. Check-in was very efficient, but the bar was closed while the dining and bar area was being decorated for a large booked event. They should have let us know they couldn't keep our table reservation.

The rooms were so tiny there was nowhere to open a suitcase, and the bathroom had room for little more than a toothbrush. There was an odd horse smell in the hallway, and the receptionists we met weren't the friendliest. The general standard is nowhere near three stars. It wasn't exactly dirty, but it had clearly been a long time since a proper cleaning.
