Le Petit Manoir de Vitrac

We slept so well in the comfortable bed, and the house had all the modern kitchen essentials we needed. It stayed cool inside, and the living room felt cozy. The private gardens and lovely pool were beautiful, and the whole place was peaceful. Anne and Francois made us feel like friends coming to visit, always kind and ready to help. Le Petit Manoir is close to lots to see in the Dordogne and just a short drive from the beautiful Dordogne river, so it was a great base for exploring the Perigord Noir. For us, it felt like having our own French home, somewhere relaxing that we were happy to return to every day. We had an amazing break and can't recommend it enough. Thanks, Anne and Francois, for a great holiday. We'll be back!

The grounds are lovely to wander around, and the gites are roomy, well equipped, and comfortable. After a day out, you can relax at Le Petit Manoir or cool off in the pool. The hosts are warm and know the area well, and can offer advice. The location made it easy to reach the Dordogne's many treasures, from castles and prehistoric sites to sumptuous gastronomic restaurants. My stay was short but memorable, and I look forward to returning to Le Petit Manoir.

Anne & François were a lovely couple, full of good advice, and gave us a warm, relaxed welcome while respecting our privacy. We'd happily recommend the place to friends and hope to return. We stayed in Le Bois, a beautifully appointed stone house on the top floor. It was comfortable and practical, decorated in a way we'd gladly choose for ourselves, with good sunlight and airflow from three directions. The private garden was my girlfriend's favorite place to read in the afternoon sun. I loved opening the windows each morning and getting the scent of the beautiful wisteria through the house, then lighting a cozy fire in the salamander each evening. We felt at home. We usually travel like backpackers and treat a place to sleep as just somewhere to rest before heading out. Our stay at the Petit Manoir de Vitrac changed that. It became a big part of what made our 10-day Dordogne vacation so enjoyable. We looked forward to coming back each day and wanted to stay in and enjoy it, instead of rushing straight out.

The setting was gorgeous, with spacious grounds, lovely views from the windows, stone walls, ceiling beams, and a fully equipped kitchen. Our place also had its own private outdoor area. The unheated pool was just the right temperature, and the hosts were wonderful. We were well placed for visiting medieval Dordogne, and we couldn't fault our experience. There wasn't a single thing we disliked. It was perfect.
