The shower and toilet facilities are new and look great. To get in, scan the QR code on the side window. They email you the available pitches and gate code, though it’s worth checking your spam folder. Fresh bread can be ordered the day before.

Vittel is a nice spa town for a stroll, with a lovely park and town center nearby. The campground itself is pleasant, with hedges and paved roads, but our pitch sloped and we couldn’t get it level, which made sleeping annoying. The toilets have no seats, something we found common in France, and the showers run for about 20 seconds before you need to press the button again. A few more hooks in the shower stalls would help.

We could pick any unoccupied pitch, and the one we chose was fine. The wash block was clean and in good shape, and reception was friendly. It’s an easy walk into town and to the park and thermal baths that made Vittel famous. We stayed two nights as a break on the drive farther south and would happily come back.

It’s about a ten-minute walk to the pleasant center of Vittel, and the campground feels quieter and roomier than Port des Vosges. We were impressed by the spacious pitches and the new, clean toilet block. The woman at reception was lovely, and bread is available in the morning from 8:30.

Our friend came down the small steps from her camper and fell into a hole hidden in the grass, possibly a rabbit hole. She broke her upper leg. Two ambulances came, and she was taken to a nearby hospital. It happened during the day, so most people would probably have noticed. Nobody from Seasonova came to help or ask how she was. The next day, her husband was still charged for one day’s rent. If this had happened in the USA, the campsite would have been sued. I was there, and I believe you’re responsible for maintaining the pitches where campers park. There was a deep hole right there. Whether that creates legal responsibility remains to be seen, but given what happened, you could at least have shown some courtesy after someone had a terrible accident on your property.
