La Villa Cécile

We stayed four days and had a different generous breakfast every morning, plus Cécile's cakes. There were homemade cakes waiting in our room too, which was a lovely surprise. The bed linen was thick and comfortable, so we slept incredibly well. Our room was roomy and furnished with care, and the bathroom felt like it belonged in a five-star hotel, with bathrobes, slippers, and everything we needed. The owners made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived. The whole house is modern, luxurious, and tastefully decorated. If you find yourself in Charente-Maritime, this gîte is well worth a visit. One of the best we’ve stayed in across France.

We came away from the weekend feeling completely refreshed. Gérard and Cécile looked after us so well, welcomed us like royalty, and were quick to suggest good restaurants nearby. Our king-size room was lovely and romantic without being overdone. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, with regional products. The place itself is peaceful, spotless, and decorated with great taste. There’s plenty more to discover here, so I’ll leave that to you. You can book without hesitation. The spa and sauna service should make fans of both very happy, and the breakfast was generous, well balanced, and high quality. Cécile and Gérard were lovely hosts, with useful suggestions for exploring Charente, from food to local heritage visits. We spent a wonderful 10 days at La Villa Cécile. The villa is charming and peaceful, a real change of scenery, and the owners gave us a warm welcome. Our queen-size room was spacious, elegant, clean, and well soundproofed.
