Au Clos de l'Epinay

Antoine gave us a lovely welcome, and we enjoyed both the wines and his interesting outlook on them. If you're looking for a winemaker around Vouvray, this place is well worth a stop.

The vineyard and cellar visits were both interesting, and Antoine explained things in detail. He was very kind and sympa. You can see how passionate he is about wine and how much he respects nature and the people he works with. Good wine too. Hope to visit again soon!

We took a chance and dropped in without an appointment at Clos de l’Épinay, and were so glad we did. After a lovely drive through the countryside, Antoine gave us a very friendly welcome. He spent lots of time explaining their winemaking approach and the background to the different wines we tasted. We came away with some bottles for our luggage back to the States 😀. It also helped that Antoine spoke fluent English. Thank you, Antoine!

We especially liked the Chaflorie, such an inventive wine, and we're glad they have an importer in New York so we can enjoy it back home. Antoine and Henri are making some remarkable wines, and I'm excited to see how the vineyard develops under their care. Our visit to Clos de l'Epinay was wonderful. The property recently changed hands, with Antoine as the new owner, and he's doing an incredible job. He was so accommodating that he even came back from Paris to fit our travel schedule. We got a fabulous vineyard tour and heard so much of his knowledge and passion for wine. The tasting felt genuine and gave us a glimpse of the actual winemaking process, a refreshing change from the overly commercialized tastings we've had elsewhere. I'll definitely visit again when I'm in the area. Highly recommend!
