Domaine des Bidaudières

I was on vacation with my family in a nice house next door and walked through this small, pretty estate to look around before deciding whether to visit. A young male staff member stopped me and immediately scolded me for being on private property, though there were no signs saying non-residents weren't welcome. He didn't seem to have the manners or sense to see me as a potential customer. Maybe hospitality isn't the career for him. I won't spend my money here.

The setting is lovely, just above a sweet pond with a gorgeous pool. Beds were very comfortable, and the bathtub with shower was nice. The free breakfast was lovely too. Sylvie & Pascal, the owners, were so helpful and kind. Lots of activities are close by.

We had a great time at Domaine des Bidaudieres while visiting the chateaus in the loire valley. With a rental car, it's an ideal base, not far from Tours or Amboise. The pool was perfect during the heatwave. Breakfast is simple, with pastries, fruit and yogurt. Sylvie gave us great Vouvray food recommendations, so we got takeout and ate on the pool patio. Gorgeous place!

The place looks pretty, but doesn't seem well maintained underneath, and the man on site badly needs customer service training. If you stay, inspect everything as soon as you check in and report any problems right away. We waited until checkout after our two-day stay to mention the room issues, and were blamed for them. We hadn't asked for a discount or credit. We only wanted them to know so they could fix things before a wedding planned there after we left. The man became incredibly defensive, rude and insulting. Maybe it's better for day events where guests don't stay overnight, but I can't recommend it for a night stay.
