Les Voies Blanches

Monique really made this stay special. She was kind, attentive, and quick to help with directions or anything else we asked. We also really appreciated the unexpected washer and dryer. Getting around was easy, and we liked the location and accommodations. If you're visiting the Loire Valley, this is a lovely B&B to consider.

We stayed four nights in the “ARUSHA” room at LES VOIES BLANCHES in Vouvray in October 2025. The room is partly troglodytic and has been renovated with care, making good use of the original features. The bed was comfortable, and the private parking close by was a major plus. There’s also a secure place to store bikes and charge them if needed. We got good advice about places to visit, but the internet connection was very unreliable. The television didn’t work during our stay either. My wife’s laptop, which we hoped to use to plan bike trips, was no help because we couldn’t get a steady connection. Wifi coverage in Vouvray seemed poor. For anyone planning to ride the EURO VELO 6, which runs south of the river, getting there from Vouvray on the north side can be risky. Locals who regularly mountain bike told us to avoid the Charles de Gaulle bridge because of heavy traffic and no physical barrier between bikes and motor vehicles, including cars and trucks. They advised crossing on the railway bridge instead. There are trains close by, which may worry some people, but a concrete barrier separates the path from the tracks, and a derailment would just be very unlucky. SNCF allows bikes to be walked across the roughly 370 metres to the other bank at Montlouis sur Loire. A ferry also carries bikes across for a small fee, though it only runs in the summer season.

We spent two nights in the very spacious, pleasant Arusha room, and the bathroom was spotless. Breakfast was good, with lots of conversation about the region.

Monique made us a delicious breakfast with real care, and we got to enjoy it outside. The Valaam room was spacious and relaxing, and the whole place felt peaceful, just right for switching off for a while. We had a really lovely weekend.
