Book ahead, this place isn't a secret find. The hotel rooms have a bit of a 'French' feel, which most people will see as a bonus. It's well located for a final night in France before the questionable joys of the Tunnel. The food can be pretty good or brilliant, and arrives without much of a wait. I like the fin de siécle style restaurant booths. They feel like the style has developed over time, rather than being a cheap copy of the 1890s.

The bed was excellent and the room very comfortable. The food was excellent too, and service was great, with very friendly staff. It had the very French feel I wanted. The private secure car park was worth paying for with a car full of wine.

We had a family room that was nice, though small and quite expensive compared with places we'd stayed elsewhere in France. If your children aren't always perfectly behaved, this may not be the hotel for you. Another guest complained, but the woman at the front desk was very nice about it. The restaurant looked lovely but was full. We sat in the courtyard instead and ordered drinks, plus a charcuterie and cheese platter, which were all very nice. Eating outside felt more relaxed, and we appreciated having the option, although the service wasn't great.

The beach and restaurants are only a short way off, and it's about 30 minutes to the ferry terminal. There was secure parking at the rear of the hotel, which gave us peace of mind. Great location.

We were completely happy with the hotel and managed to get a room at short notice. It was clean, well kept and big enough for two. Street parking is free after 18:00hrs, or there's a paid car park. You can reach the rooms by elevator (lift) or by half spiral stairs.
