Gîte Noa

The valley view is stunning, and the chalet is well placed for trips around the Vosges, with Alsace easy to reach too. Inside, it has nearly everything, from a baby bath to a washing machine, and the rain shower is great. The kitchen still works very well, though the furnishings feel dated. Watch your head upstairs: the doorway is only about 1.65 m high.

The bakery is an easy walk away, and although the access road seemed a little tricky at first, we got used to it quickly. We enjoyed exploring nearby and taking short hikes. The house was clean when we arrived, with good bathroom facilities and a practical, comfortable setup. The kitchen has plenty of dishes and appliances, and there’s both a washing machine and dryer. A fireplace makes the living room cosy, and the extra dining area gives the ground floor a spacious feel. All the beds are upstairs, including a double bed in an open alcove, reached by a wooden staircase. There’s a separate outdoor grill and play equipment for children. We also liked seeing cattle in the pasture next door, though they were quite shy.

The large garden looks out over the valley and Col du Honeck, and the location makes a great base for exploring the area. Inside, the house is spacious and has all the amenities, with three double beds and two single beds. The singles were a bit short. What a fantastic view!

We even caught the first snowfall, and the magnificent view made the stay feel especially peaceful. The chalet was very clean and comfortable, and the owners welcomed us so warmly. We all found the cottage really pleasant. Superb, we’ll definitely come back.
