The room itself was clean and had comfortable beds, plus a sink, microwave, and fridge. The toilets were two floors below us, which was a nuisance, though they were clean too. The owner met us at the door and was a really pleasant guy. The location’s great, and the price was good. Getting a smaller room than we’d booked was a bit unprofessional. They called to check whether we were okay with the change, though, and it caused no real harm. The main risk is the noise. The walls are very thin, and other guests kept us awake with thumping and talking all night. Even earplugs didn’t help. I had a rough night, mostly because of the other guests rather than the hotel itself, but it’s something to be aware of.

The only real drawback was the noise. You can hear neighbours through the walls, and the doors bang loudly when they close. Apart from that, it was a lovely stay: very clean, with all the facilities we needed and good value for money.

A budget place to stay in Aberdeen, with an easy check-in and check-out. Our room was pretty cold on the first night, and one of the showers was out of use for part of our stay.

The rooms were warm and comfortable, and the bathrooms were clean with good water pressure. It’s only a short walk from the train station and Union Square. A good choice if you’re travelling, working, or exploring Aberdeen on your own.
