I slept brilliantly here for two weeks while in Aberdeen for training. Those beds are to die for, I got 8+ hours every night, which is rare for me. The apartment was lovely, with comfortable furniture and nice hot water. It’s close to town for food and drinks, and there’s a lovely bar on the ground floor with good food, sports and beer on tap. The welcome supplies in the kitchen were a nice touch, and there were treats for anyone with a sweet tooth on the stairs. I know how these buildings started out, so the transformation inside is wonderful. The location caused one headache, through no fault of the apartment. I drive an older diesel, and road resurfacing on the main road meant I got caught once in the new LEZ because that was the only way out at the time. I’ll fight that with the council when it comes through. I also never needed an alarm, since workers started up at 0730 every morning. It would’ve been a 5* review without the ABZ LEZ zone and roadworks happening at the same time.

I’m writing this on the eve of leaving Howburn after an unexpected six month stay, and I’d recommend it to anyone considering it. The apartments are central, fresh, clean, modern, well equipped, safe and secure, and very good value. David and his partner, the owners, have been professional, excellent hosts. They’re always happy to help and answer questions.
