Travelodge Glasgow Queen Street

Parking was good and conveniently located, though it costs extra, with a discount. The room had a damp feel and smelled like someone had pissed on the carpet. We asked for it to be cleaned, but nobody came. If you have allergies, don't go.

The room itself was clean, but the booking and service were really disappointing. We paid for a family room and got a standard double with two pull-out beds, which isn't what we booked. Staff said it was their “largest room,” though that was hard to believe, and it didn't look like the website photos. They offered only another room for £270 for two nights, even though their website was showing double rooms for around £150 at the time. Nobody made a real effort to sort it out or take responsibility. The lift constantly smelled of cannabis, there was no fridge, and free WiFi was capped at 30 minutes a day. I wouldn't recommend it.

The location was quiet, down at the bottom of town, with a few pubs within a five minute walk and shops nearby. The rooms were clean and spacious enough to move around in, and the bed was comfy.

The staff were friendly and respectful, and I appreciate their efforts. Management, though, was rude and unhelpful, with no proper response to the problems guests were having. During my stay at Travelodge we had major issues, including no electricity and no Wi-Fi, which made things uncomfortable. A hotel should offer basic comfort and professional service, and this place fell short on both.
