Premier Inn Aberdeen - Anderson Drive

Maria was especially lovely, and the service from the staff felt like what you’d get at a five-star hotel. Our children had a really enjoyable stay, too. The room was spacious and up to the usual Premier Inn standard, and the restaurant next door suited us perfectly. We enjoyed our stay more than we expected to.

The room and beds were nice, and the front desk staff were helpful. There were some practical drawbacks, though. The hotel wasn’t easy to spot from the street, and Maps wasn’t much use for walking directions. The area didn’t feel particularly great, though I didn’t have any trouble, and reception wasn’t staffed all the time. The heating was being changed during our stay, and even with staff helping, we couldn’t get the temperature comfortable. It swung between too hot and too cold. There were no sockets beside the bed, and the old-style USB ports weren’t suitable for my medical device. I had to sleep the other way round, with my feet against the headboard, which was uncomfortable even though I’m average height.

We were in town for a family funeral, and the staff were polite and the room was clean. Still, seeing the hotel when we arrived was a shock. It looked in very poor shape and badly in need of care, unlike the other Premier Inns we’ve stayed in. If we hadn’t already paid in full, we wouldn’t have stayed. It was also very expensive for one night.

It’s a perfectly serviceable Premier Inn, with clean rooms and the usual facilities. There’s a small breakfast room and a carvery next door. The location isn’t especially good, but the hotel itself is fine. It sits somewhere in the middle for Premier Inns, neither bad nor amazing, and was what I’d expect in a good way.
