Breakfast was simple but good, with bread and the basics, and my room had tea and coffee, a kettle, TV, iron and ironing board. It was clean, charming and cozy, and I slept well, with only the occasional footsteps overhead. The building is fascinating by day and looks like a little castle from outside. Since it's a church converted into a B&B, it has a character all its own. I was in Aberdeen for a university conference at King's College, about a 30-minute walk away, and close to the city centre too. Getting in after my long trip was a little confusing because Google Maps doesn't take you straight to reception, but someone quickly pointed me the right way. The receptionist was kind and asked about my journey, which made me feel welcome. Returning late, I found the courtyard a bit eerie, though lamps lit the route and everything was fine. On my last day, I mistakenly thought checkout was a day later than it was. The staff weren't upset, charged me £25 for returning the key card late, and even helped me book another room for an extra night. I would've liked to attend the Sunday service at the nearby church if I'd had more time. There are some small areas for improvement and a few aesthetic flaws, but the service was good. It's not a 5-star hotel and doesn't claim to be, but I recommend it and would stay again.

For £50 a night, the location was good, though reception was remote and the place seemed to be awaiting renovation.

The staff were friendly, polite and helpful. My room was very clean and fine for one night, with no wardrobe. The shower had good water pressure and temperature control, and there were tea and coffee facilities in the room. A continental breakfast was included and left outside the room at about 7:00 am.

Our room was dated and tired, though reasonably clean, and towels were provided when we asked. The bigger problem was that we'd booked for three people but had only one double bed. Staff promised to add a single bed while we were out, but it wasn't there when we got back, so one of us slept on the floor. Check-in was meant to be at 3, yet we were locked outside until 3:45 with no way to phone or contact the property. Once inside, we were shown to the room by staff I found unhygienic. It was a poor experience, and I'd suggest avoiding this hotel.

The receptionist was polite, but the breakfast was pretty bad. The room my boyfriend and I stayed in for a night looked completely different from the listing. In the bathroom there was a used bar of soap, hairs in the bath, and the shower looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in years. The sheets felt clean, but the pillowcase had a large orange stain and the towels had black marks.
