Craig was a super friendly host with great tips and lots of knowledge about the region. The rooms are affordable and right in the heart of the Highlands. Nothing luxurious, but absolutely fine for the price. Treat yourself to dinner at the hotel and restaurant next door, especially in the rustic lounge. It’s really cosy, and the food is delicious!

To be clear, I couldn’t stay at the Bunkhouse. I booked a night to get out of the weather while hiking the Cape Wrath Trail. Their Booking.com page said it was .5 miles away, but Google put the actual distance at 12 miles. Being on foot, that was a HUGE problem. I asked for a refund because of the incorrect distance and was denied. They offered to pick me up for a fee, which I declined, but there was no offer to help me get back to the trail. A disappointing experience that cost me 50 pounds.

It’s basic accommodation, but works perfectly well, gives good value and is in a great spot for exploring the Highlands. There’s a nice hotel next door for food and drinks. I’d stay again if I wanted a budget option.

Craig was fantastic. We arrived late after a big ride, and him getting food sorted for us was the highlight of the week. The accommodation is simple but functional, and the hotel next door is brilliant for a beer after a long day exploring the hills. Absolutely spot on, thanks a lot. We’ll certainly be back!

For 25 quid in the middle of nowhere, this did exactly what we needed: a room to ourselves and somewhere to lay our heads. The shower and central heating were among the best you could ask for, and the staff were really helpful and accommodating. But there’s no bedding supplied, no tea or coffee like at most other hostels, and the walls are very thin. Other guests were talking and banging around at 5am, which ruined our sleep. There’s just one toilet, in the same room as the shower. Still, it’s very good for what it is, and I’d stay again.
