My friend and I arrived hungry after a walk and fancied soup. She wasn’t sure about the option, so the lovely lady brought her a little espresso cup to taste. Of course, it was yummy. We had hot soup, a chunky sandwich and good coffee. Really friendly service, thank you!

The building is superb, and the museum has a Commando/Victor/Warlord feel, with lots of unusual, quirky items without being too jingoistic. The cafe is well worth a visit too, for good coffee, decent toasties or sandwiches, cake and soup. The staff were polite and attentive. Can recommend.

Always such a warm, friendly welcome. There’s a great selection of homemade cakes and scones each day. We had toasties and scones, all delicious, and the atmosphere was lovely.

It was really busy when we visited the cafe at lunchtime, and it’s easy to see why from how good the food looked. We just had tea and carrot cake, and the cake was excellent. Everything was clean and nicely presented. Such an unusual place, well worth a visit.

What a lovely surprise inside the cafe, it’s full of interesting wartime objects. We stopped for the soup and special, both excellent.
