We had a magical birthday stay, with excellent, comfortable rooms and superb food. The staff were friendly, helpful and knew their stuff. Since it was built as a hunting lodge, there are plenty of activities to choose from. We still walked up to the viewpoint despite the weather, and on our last day the sunshine revealed the full grandeur of the area. We'll definitely come back.

The remote walks and loch views made this a great place to get away from busy city life. It comes at a high price for both rooms and food, but I'm glad a hotel like this exists and thrives out here. Our quiet winter visit exceeded expectations: the rooms were thoughtfully set up with five-star amenities and a welcome gift, and the service felt personal enough that we got to know several staff members. The sitting areas had a warm, cosy feel around the log fire. The whiskey bar was impressive, and Duncan took real care to make drinks just for our preferred flavour profiles. I do wonder if service is the same in the busy summer season. The fine dining restaurant was very good too, though I reviewed it separately. There are a few things they could perfect, but nothing I need to go into here. For a cosy luxury retreat in the Highlands, I strongly recommend it and hope to return.

Getting to and from Inverness by hotel transfer was seamless, and our driver was really friendly. At The Torridon, we loved the superb setting for walks and views. The staff were all welcoming, activities were well organised and the fine dining restaurant was fabulous. Service was consistently exceptional while still feeling relaxed, which suited us perfectly.

We had a very enjoyable walk around the estate, with magnificent Scottish scenery all around. The Stables, where we stayed, are cheaper, though not as good. The main hotel is gorgeous, with a lovely Lounge, excellent food and a terrific whisky bar and barman. A wonderful hotel, thoroughly recommended.

The best stop on our NC500 trip. The staff were amazing, the amenities were wonderful and the attention to detail was everywhere. Dinner from the prix fixe menu was exceptional and paced just right. It costs a barrel of cash, so be ready for that, but it was well worth it if you love history, fine food and natural beauty.
