Holiday Inn Express Wimbledon South

The room rate was good compared with most places in the area, and the stay felt worth the money. Everything was clean, the room had a kettle, cups, and tea and coffee, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast didn't have many vegetarian choices. You can sometimes hear people in the corridors, too. Parking cost £20 for the night, which is expensive, but there's little parking around, so it feels necessary.

The staff at breakfast were friendly and greeted guests as they came in, which was nice. The cooked breakfast was good, though the choice was limited and there were no yogurts when I stayed. The room was okay, but the walls badly needed repainting and the sofa bed looked worn. The hairdryer worked on and off, and on one day the milk for tea and coffee wasn't replenished. Breakfast was okay overall.

I've been staying here for business for three weeks and can't see myself switching soon. The location is excellent, right by the tube and next to a big stretch of green space. Staff are wonderful and very helpful, the WiFi works really well throughout, and the air conditioning is excellent. The reception and bar area is nicely laid out, and there's BT Sport on the TV, though no Sky. Breakfast isn't currently being served, but they give you a takeaway bag, usually with yogurt, a muffin, and a croissant. It's clean, but like other reviews say, the basic hotel is starting to feel dated. There are no fridges in the rooms, and it's annoying not to have plugs by the bed.

The beds are the reason I'm not giving five stars, they should be renovated. For the price, though, I can recommend the hotel. It's clean and quiet, with restaurants, pubs, shops, and a nice park nearby. The breakfast is decent, and the location is excellent, just 20 meters from the London Tube.
