The cottage gave us exactly the flexibility we needed, even though we don't play golf. We first stayed here 21 years ago, and reckon it’s improved since then. Everyone was welcoming, from the bar and reception staff to the cleaners. We loved our time at the Brown Trout and hope to be back soon.

The quiet setting has some great walks nearby. We enjoyed the tasty, well-priced food and the good menu and drinks selection. Our room was warm and clean, and the bed was comfortable. Being able to bring the dog was a big bonus. Brilliant stay.

Those good things we'd heard about The Brown Trout turned out to be true. The meals were so heartwarming, and the fireplaces crackling around the hospitality areas added to the feeling of the place. Rooms were clean and comfortable, and the quiet, secluded setting left me relaxed and restored. I'll be back!

The food was a highlight, generous portions and really delicious, and breakfast was phenomenal. Jane even drove me into town twice when I couldn't get a taxi, and the rest of the staff were incredibly helpful and kind. My room was spacious, clean, and cozy. The locals who come to the pub were lovely too. I had a wonderful stay and will definitely return. ❤️

I enjoyed hole 7 most. The course is good value at 15 quid, with well-kept fairways and challenging holes, lots of tricky dog legs. It gets a bit mushy after rain because of the soil. Lovely service and a cozy bar.
