Chestnut Barn

Ilona, Heidi and the family made us feel very welcome and were helpful throughout our week in June. The barn was comfortable, clean and clearly well maintained, with lovely furnishings in every room. We also appreciated the welcome pack and fresh flowers. There’s a nice local pub, and Whitby is only about ten minutes away. We stayed with my in-laws and my mum, and had a fabulous time. Hope to return.

The ground-floor wetroom was superb for us, as our son needs a hoist, and the bedrooms were spacious with very comfortable beds. Chestnut Barn had everything we needed, especially in the kitchen, and booking was straightforward, with the hosts answering our questions. It’s around ten minutes from Whitby and close to Sandsend and Runswick Bay beaches, with plenty of good restaurants in the area. It’s a great place to stay while exploring North Yorkshire. We’ll definitely come back. Thanks for a great holiday.

The cottage’s layout suited us perfectly, and it had everything we needed for a luxury break. It’s a great base for the moors and other beaches, with Whitby only a few minutes away. We took our new kitten and his mum along, and they loved it too. The rooms are a great size and the cottage has everything you could want. There’s a pub right on the doorstep with great food, and it’s well placed for exploring North Yorkshire. Thanks for letting us spend our holiday in your beautiful cottage.
