The beds are large and comfortable, the rooms are spacious, and there are facilities to refill water, still or sparkling. Prices are keen and the staff are great. Thames, the bar manager, served me some of the best Guinness I’ve had outside the Emerald Isle. His colleague was really nice too, possibly German. Thames is a lovely guy to talk to and a true gentleman.

The in-house grill was the one weak point for me. The food was bland, and the onion rings tasted like oil. Still, I’m looking forward to returning because the team handled a serious room problem brilliantly. I’d been upgraded to a larger room, but around 10pm a gas leak from the jacuzzi bath made it unusable. Even though the hotel was full and it was late, the staff, especially Robert, quickly found me another room and moved me over smoothly. They also brought complimentary beer and snacks as an apology. The team were fantastic.

The breakfast is generous and good quality, the rooms are lovely, well furnished and kept, and every room I’ve had has had its own air conditioning. Parking is plentiful and secure, and the staff have always been very helpful. We’ve stayed here several times. It’s a little further out, but nowhere is far away, so that’s fine. I’d highly recommend the hotel to anyone staying in the area.
