I meant to post this six months ago, but I haven’t forgotten. We usually like Travelodge when we’re travelling around the country, because you know what to expect, just in a different “font.” What made this one stand out was the excellent team. My husband left his rather expensive wedding ring in the room. Before he even noticed it was missing, **James** called to say the cleaning team had found it. Thanks so much to them for being so honest. The world’s a better place with people like you in it.

The rooms were clean and the staff were friendly. The evening team also gave us useful ideas for meals and takeaways, including Uber and Deliveroo. There isn't a bar here, which I mistakenly expected, but there's a well-known steakhouse about 20 yards away on the same grounds. The beer and spirits there were reasonably priced, and they were happy to serve you even if you only wanted a drink. The hotel is a little out of the way for everyday basics, though its road links into town are handy.

The setting was lovely, and the place was very clean. Staff were helpful and accommodating, and I'd gladly stay here again.
